Parking and Access
- If there are parking restrictions at either property you will need to arrange for exemptions or permits etc. Notify
neighbours to keep the parking area clear. Obtain cones or markers from your local authority if necessary.
Children and Pets
- If possible it is advisable to arrange for children and pets to be looked after whilst the removal takes place
as it can be stressful and dangerous for them during the move.
- We are not permitted to carry passengers or pets on our vehicles.
Removal Team
- The removal team will arrive at the agreed time and talk through the moving schedule with you, please point out
any items not to be moved and also mark any essential boxes such as bedding or any food & drink etc so these
can be unloaded first at your new home.
- The removal team will be experienced in removals so be guided by their advice and they will work hard to make
sure your move goes as smoothly as possible.
Refreshments
- Removals can be hard and thirsty work for all concerned so keep a good supply of hot & cold drinks available.
Personal Items
- Make sure you keep any personal items like keys, documents etc with you. See our tips page !
Solicitors, Agents and Keys
- If you are completing on your moving day you will need to keep in contact with your solicitor and
estate agent who should advise you when the financial transactions are complete and when the keys for your new home will be
available. It is advisable to keep checking with them because they don't always contact you immediately.
- Make sure you give the correct contact phone numbers to your agents etc, remember your house phone
may get disconnected before you leave.
- If the removal team are likely to arrive at your new address before you it may be worth giving them a spare key
to enable them to proceed with unloading.
- IMPORTANT: Late access to your new home because of obtaining a late key is one of the biggest problems removers
experience, so every effort should be made on your part to obtain an early key if possible.
- Remember: It is possible you may have to pay additional charges for any undue delays.
